"Gateway to the Monashee"

For many years Lumby, known as the "Gateway to the Monashee", was our best kept secret known only to those adventuresome few who discovered the beautiful, pristine mountain lakes, fishing, swimming, camping, hiking, cross country trails, snowmobiling, canoeing, cycling, and horseback trips in the natural beauty of the surrounding area.

Early settlers, mainly from Quebec, arrived in the area in the late 1800's.  They opened up the wilderness, and for years, farming and forestry served as the main source of revenue.  Lumby Museum
